The Manifesto

Chinese Learned,
Not Money Earned.

Why we built a distraction-free, ownership-first companion for the Dangdai curriculum.

01

Ownership
over Rent

Education should not be a subscription. In the physical world, when you buy a hammer, you own it. You do not pay a monthly fee to keep the handle attached.

Modern EdTech has normalized the idea of "renting" your vocabulary. If you stop paying, you lose your progress. We reject this trend.

"We sell licenses, not subscriptions. You pay once, it's yours. No surprises."
02

Retention
over Engagement

We do not care about Daily Active Users. We care about your memory.

If an app uses streaks, gems, leaderboards, or mascots, it is optimizing for addiction, not fluency. These are engagement hacks designed to keep you clicking, not learning.

Zhong Chinese is a utility. It is calm, quiet, and intentional. We use the FSRS algorithm to schedule reviews exactly when you need them, not when we need ad revenue.

03

Depth
over Breadth

We do not teach 50 languages poorly. We teach Chinese perfectly.

Generic apps fail because they try to force Chinese into a template built for Spanish. We are built specifically for the MTC Dangdai curriculum.

  • Correct stroke order validation
  • Authentic Taipei-accented audio
  • TOCFL-aligned vocabulary
04

Sustainability
over Intensity

Burnout is the enemy of fluency. The "Review Snowball"—waking up to 500 reviews—is why most people quit Anki.

We protect you from yourself. Our system encourages a sustainable daily pace. We would rather you learn a few words a day for a year than 30 words a day for a week.
